Here is is, my latest art piece, and the one that will be my last as a blog post. It look longer than I anticipated to post due to stressful back to back work deadlines but I am slowly getting back on track with my artwork.
This piece was a lot of firsts for me. It is the first I completed on professional 100% hot pressed cotton paper. The first I transferred from one surface (printing paper) to another (cotton paper) using transfer paper. The first I painted with mostly professional paint (Golden SoFlat Acrylics) and the first I photographed using my new light box equipment.
Overall I am happy with the direction my art is taking with my new supplies. Even though I’m not a professional artist, I’m loving using professional art supplies. The way the paint lays smoothly on the paper in rich, opaque colors. And how the paper only curls slightly at edges, instead of nearly completely like the mixed media paper. It makes my art look so much better and makes my efforts feel worth it.
I can’t wait to see how my art continues to develop as I learn new techniques and build my arsenal of supplies. I hope to complete my website upgrade soon with my new portfolio homepage.
Until next time.
