In my last post I mentioned how I wanted to try an idea I had given up on after my first attempt. The idea? Themed doodles! And here is attempt #2, a themed doodle of the classic children’s book Goodnight Moon. My first themed attempt was based of the movie Wicked. I’m too lazy to track down the post but you can find it in my 2025 posts. Unlike my first attempt, in which I tried to stay faithful to every detail in the wizard of oz story, I was a lot little looser in my production of Goodnight Moon, choosing instead to stick to key elements of the story like the red balloon and the cow jumping over the moon.
My favorite part of the doodle is the window. I was so happy with the way it turned out, a nearly exact copy of the window in the bunny’s bedroom (note that the curtains in the window are green in yellow in the pages of the book while red and green on the cover). My second favorite piece is the cow jumping over the moon. I originally drew it on the wardrobe but I didn’t like the placement and decided to move it to the rug instead. I liked the cow and the moon so much that I suddenly found myself with an idea to possibly use it again in the future, but I won’t speak on it for now. Needless to say I will definitely be trying themed doodles again in the future.
