Mini Doodle #8

Mini doodle #8

I really liked the way this one turned out. The color block, along with the use of fewer colors, really made the doodles stand out. And speaking of doodles, my goal was to make sure they took up most of the drawing. I realized with my last drawing (and honestly with all my mini doodle drawings) that the doodles were loosing real estate space to the other elements in the piece. And this was not what I wanted. My desire has always been to present doodles in a way that is different than the standard collage method. And if the doodles aren’t the biggest presence on the paper then I’m failing at this. So I widened the real estate for the doodles and with this my art vision moved a little more into the light. Last night when I was readying for bed a curious idea popped into my head. It’s an old idea, something I tried (and failed) with a previous drawing but this time my skills are a little better. My sense of understanding about drawing a bit stronger. I want to try again. I don’t know if the idea will work this time, but we’ll find out with the next drawing.

Stay tuned.
